JAX Postdoctoral Program Neuroscience Specialization

Bar Harbor, ME
Program Description

The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) offers research and training opportunities for postdoctoral scholars interested in neuroscience, with an emphasis on genetic approaches. JAX neuroscientists take advantage of the lab’s unparalleled mouse genetics resources to understand neuronal function and disease. Neuroscience at JAX spans from the computational genomics of addiction to the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuro-development and -degeneration. Postdocs have access to a comprehensive range of scientific services at JAX, by which they can take advantage of state-of-the-art technologies to advance their independent research. Neuroscience postdocs attend regular journal clubs and interest group meetings, integral components of JAX’s highly collaborative neuroscience community. JAX’s Postdoctoral Program office ensures postdocs have a productive training experience and are well positioned to take the next step in their careers. JAX postdocs have access to all of JAX’s Courses & Conferences and the holistic Whole Scientist course, which offer unique professional development opportunities. JAX postdocs are encouraged and supported in their efforts to procure external funding.
